Volvo Group focus on sustainability during Boao Forum for Asia

With its unique history and given the attendance of more than 1 500 senior government officials, business leaders and researchers – the Boao forum for Asia is the premier annual gathering for the Asia Pacific region. This year, the theme for the annual conference was “Asia’s New Future: Identifying New Growth Drivers”.

 

The Volvo Group is since seven years a main sponsor of the Boao Forum for Asia. During the conference, the Volvo Group focus on interacting with government officials from various APAC countries and of course not at least from China, but also actively participate in idea generation and dialogue in the various seminars as well as have a number of side line meetings. This year, the Volvo Group amongst others took part in a high-level sustainability seminar focused on new findings on climate change. Among the panellists were Volvo Group President and CEO Olof Persson and as well as Chinese glaciologist and Volvo Environment Prize laureate, Dr Qin Dahe.

In addition, Olof Persson was one of a small number of international CEOs who was granted the opportunity to meet with China’s Premier Li Keqiang. During the meeting, Olof Persson stressed the need for a sustainable development in China.

“The Volvo Group´s vision is to be the world leader in sustainable transport solutions and we are willing to contribute with our expertise to a more sustainable growth and development in China” said Olof Persson.
