Protects the forbidden city

Renault Trucks has delivered two Renault Midlum fire tenders to the City of Peking for protecting the Forbidden City. These two vehicles are among the twenty fire-fighting vehicles that China has ordered from the manufacturer over the past two years.

“China imported five hundred European fire-fighting vehicles in 2012. It was its robustness and long operational life that made China decide to invest in twenty Renault Midlum vehicles. This was an opportunity for Renault to further raise awareness of its vehicles on the Chinese market,” explains Remi Lemoine, Distribution range manager for Renault Trucks.

The Renault Midlum has been well established in China for some ten years, but this is the first time the manufacturer has delivered fire-fighting vehicles to the country, two of which have been chosen to protect the Forbidden City, at the heart of Peking’s Imperial City.

Renault Trucks already has a 75% leading share of the French fire-fighting vehicle market and has also earned itself a place on international markets after winning contracts in Algeria, Spain and Chile.
